Rio Futaleufu

Rio Futaleufu:

Futaleufu is a Miapuche Indian word meaning big river. The Futa has an average summer flow 10 to 12,000 c.f.s. Although it is a large river by volume it has many back channels, islands, and gravel bars which allow opportunities for the avid wade fisherman. We have five seperate full day float trips available to us on the Futa. Amazingly enough, even though these sections are close in proximity, each differs greatly as a fishery. Each offers its own character due to differences in gradient, structure, aquatic vegetation, and biomass.

Rio Palena:

The Palena is another large river in the region and offers some of the most spectacular scenery of any of our fisheries. The character of the Palena differs from both the Yelcho and Futa however like the Futa wade fishing opportunities abound. We have two full day floats available to us on the Palena and an opportunity to do an overnight trip for our clients who are a little more adventureous.

Rio Azul:

The namesake of our lodge sits in the valley just below our cabin and conflues with the Futa one half mile from our front door. Being a glacial stream the Azul is not know for holding larger trout however it is an excellent resource for a few hours of wade fishing here and there for those anglers who just cant get enough.

Other Fisheries:

There are a multitude of other rivers, creeks, lagoons, and lakes in our region. Definately too many to list here. All of these fisheries we make available to our anglers and with your input we choose the locations which best suit the desires of you and your group.
